Catching up!

Well, good morning, everyone!  I've been concentrating so much on building a "real" website, aside from having this blog, that I've taken quite a hiatus from here!  I'm back, and I'll be making some updates here, and many more frequent posts!  The last year has been great!  A few more weddings, and some senior shoots, and I'm back to it again after that long, awful winter!

Over at my facebook page, I've been doing "100 happy photos".  Feel free to have a look -
100 Happy Photos!  There are also some new photos from the last wedding we did over at Gino's Surf on the beautiful Lake St. Clair.

Lots of new projects spinning in my brain, and my goal is to complete them this year!

Here's a little sneak peek at our most recent wedding - Congratulations Mark & Rachel!

 The dreamy dress!

Their "silly" picture

Stunning.  That's the only word!

The lucky guy...

I know, you're thinking, "fire truck, he must be a firefighter.."  Actually, when the fire alarm gets pulled at the church, the fire department really will show up!

The cutest "bride in a babushka" ever.  It was a very nice traditional dance/ceremony, where all of the family and guests surrounded the bride and groom, and sang to them and danced around them!

A day at the barn, round 384....

I love horses.  If you've read enough of my blog, you already know this.  Over the last 20 years, I've had the privilege of riding, showing and barn cleaning :)  (also, a perk, if you're a farm girl like myself.)  One day, I'll have another one or two in my back yard, for now, I live vicariously through my horse friends ;)

I spent a day last summer at a show barn in Armada, with a couple friends who spend their days there, training and working very hard perfecting their passions.

Jill and Rob, Belle Isle Wedding!

Oh, goodness.  This was just such a beautiful, wonderful, lovely romantic wedding!  Amazing couple, awesome family!  Jill and Rob held their wedding at the Conservatory on Belle Isle, and their reception was held at the Detroit Yacht Club, which, wow...  talk about sensory overload, (in a good way!) it is a stunning building, to put it extremely mildly.  So many photos to choose from, here's a few for now.  You can view more at my website listed at the top of my blog.  :)

What a pleasure to be invited to capture their special day, they are one of those couples, that are just so very in love, it radiates all around them!  Congratulations again, Jill and Rob, Thank You for allowing us to be a part of your very special day!  All our best to you!

Tea Party in the Woods with Paige and Nevada!

Wow!  I have to say I sure have been slacking on this blog!  Life sure does get busy these days!  I just realized I never posted these photos, along with a few other shoots!  I'll be posting some today!!

What a wonderful day this was.  A beautiful, gorgeous location in the woods, perfect for a tea party, or a wedding, which the site is available for as well!!  THIS, is where I would get married!

A very long time friend of mine, who also happens to be a very talented artist/photographer, is Mother to these beautiful twin little ladies.  Such precious and sweet little girls, we had such a great time doing this impromptu shoot.  My favorite in a long time!!

Enjoy!

The other side of Detroit

I spent the last weekend urban exploring in Detroit.  This is something that has been on my bucket list for such a long time!  I have some sort of infatuation with old things in general.  Old windows, doors, chairs, houses.... the list goes on and on.  I have seen thousands of photos from some of the ruins of what used to be amazing works of architectural art, and have since, wanted to see it all for myself.

I'm sure I took well over 200 pictures.  What a surreal sight, and feeling, and at the same time, quite peaceful really.  It was a gorgeous day for the beginning of February in Michigan, about 45 degrees and very sunny.

The only sounds were the wind blowing through the broken windows, over the top of the missing roof and through the building sized corridors that were once, actual, whole buildings, now just large open spaces in between what remains.  Birds singing, echoes of water dripping.

So here is one, for now.  I have a lot of photos to go through still, but I will have more up here soon!

A humble attempt at HDR...

Remember this gorgeous couple?!  I had the pleasure of capturing their love for eachother during their engagement shoot last fall.  Such a happy, fun loving couple!

Update:  The wedding.... amazing!!  Held on the beautiful grounds of MeadowBrook, here in Auburn Hills.  Thank You, Jaclyn and Colin for inviting me to share your special day with you!  The wedding was beautiful!
Also a big Thank You to Tina at TinaLynnPhotography.com for shooting this gorgeous event with me!

It was way too hard to pick just a few - so ... enjoy!!  Find more images here:
